Since August, I have been working as a graphic design contractor for several firms: Sync360, Forward Design, Marshall Creative, Toddy Gear, and Megan Licursi Public Relations. Projects have included websites, packaging, print materials of all kinds, and user interfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designed identity, print and web materials for clients based on direction from creative director
- Organized feedback, assign tasks and perform day-to-day project oversight and vendor coordination
- General office administrative and creative production tasks
- Quality assurance for most web and print projects

HIGHLIGHTS
- Developed the firm’s new website, www.batesmeron.com
- Designed and organized several 150-page+ catalogs for BatesMeron’s largest horticulture client, including direct client interaction and data acquisition
- Instituted new project management protocols to increase efficiency and transparency

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handled all creative needs for clients from concept to production in identity, print and interactive, including resource management and team oversight
- Worked with multiple clients to develop their brand strategy and subsequent brand language
- Interfaced directly with vendors and clients for quality assurance and workflow management
- Wrote proposals, contracts and forms and helped develop budgets
- Copy writing including creative and blogging
HIGHLIGHTS
- Designed TripleSpoke’s entire brand identity system
- Developed the assets management system for the office and client files, creating more efficient workflow, a logical method of progression and quality checkpoints
- Created or enhanced all internal marketing efforts
- Ensured client delight through conscientious involvement and personalized interaction style
The Center for Food Security & Public Health

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designed and maintained the Center’s brand and promotional materials
- Worked closely with scientists to understand complex information and portray it visually, accurately and engagingly for national dissemination
- Laid out several large textbooks of vastly differing information infrastructures
- Created Flash-based instructional videos for scientists, doctors and veterinarians
HIGHLIGHTS
- The website created by myself and the Center’s head programmer won two awards (www.cfsph.iastate.edu) for excellence in content and ease of use
- Developed templates and processes that allowed subject-matter experts to update the content quickly and easily without involving a designer, enabling faster, more accurate corrections and information dissemination in an ever-changing information environment
